CentrePort Canada Inc. has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for a partner to develop a 665-acre rail park in Rosser, Manitoba.

The park will be designed to combine industrial space with logistics infrastructure and services to attract "rail-intensive companies," CentrePort officials said in a press release.

"We look forward to finding an experienced development partner through this RFP so that we can break ground in 2019," said CentrePort President and Chief Executive Officer Diane Gray. "The rail park is the signature project in realizing the community’s vision of a trimodal inland port in Manitoba."

The park is expected to be built in two phases. The first will include a common-use rail facility and the industrial use will be clustered around it.

The second phase will be "well-suited for larger industrial clients requiring on-site rail spurs and switching services," CentrePort officials said. Phase II will connect to the park's Phase I by rail and road infrastructure.
