The San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) earlier this month partnered with Lyft to offer Metrolink riders a free ride-hailing option between four commuter-rail stations and Ontario International Airport in Southern California.

SBCTA will cover up to $35 off each Lyft ride connecting a rider from the Montclair, Upland, Rancho Cucamonga and Ontario-East stations to the airport.

To participate, riders need to download the Lyft mobile application and enter a promotional code to receive the discount. The promotion will then be automatically applied to all future eligible rides.

The SBCTA is funding the $396,000 pilot program to increase public transportation ridership serving the airport and gather information to help develop future connections that will ease congestion in the area, Metrolink officials said in a press release.

“Through this partnership, travelers and workers alike have a convenient, reliable transportation option to get to and from the Ontario International Airport without needing to own or rent a car or worry about parking,” said Bakari Brock, Lyft's senior director of city partnerships, in a press release.
