BART General Manager Crunican to retire

Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) General Manager Grace Crunican last week informed the agency's board she will retire July 6.

Cruncian was appointed general manager of the San Francisco agency in 2011.

“A capable, diverse and energetic team of new leaders is in place to take BART into the next decade,” Cruncian said in a written statement to BART's board.

Prior to joining BART, Crunican served as director of the Seattle Department of Transportation, director of the Oregon Department of Transportation and deputy administrator for the Federal Transit Administration.
